Dataset assignments
An assignment grants a user permission to read or edit a dataset's data — typically for data-entry staff who should not touch templates or mappings.
Why assignments?
Operators and editors already see all datasets in their organization. Assignments exist so you can give a narrower permission to a specific person:
- A scorer who should update a leaderboard row but cannot edit templates.
- A copywriter who should rewrite captions without seeing anything else.
How it works
- An admin opens a dataset and picks Assign → pick a user, pick a permission (
vieworedit). - The assigned user sees the dataset in their Assigned datasets view.
- They cannot see other datasets, templates or productions (unless their role grants it).
Permissions
- View — read-only. They can see the data but not change it.
- Edit — full edit on the dataset's values. They still cannot rename it, change filters or delete it.
Revoking
From the same screen, remove the assignment. Access is revoked immediately; any open browser sessions get an error on next save.
