Rundown

Production rundown

An ordered list of production items with durations and start times — a script for the show.

Production rundown

A rundown is an ordered list of items inside a production. It is a scripted timeline — the operator reads down the rundown during the show to know what to take next.

What a rundown item has

  • A title — what the operator sees in the list.
  • An optional description.
  • An optional duration — the expected on-air time.
  • An optional start time — when it should go live.
  • A color — visual category.

Items are display only. They do not automatically take layers on or off; the operator still presses Take and Out. Think of the rundown as a cue sheet, not a scheduler.

Reordering

Drag items in the rundown list. The sort order is persisted and reflected in the control panel's rundown view.

Adding items

From the production page, open the Rundown tab and click Add item. Fill the fields and save.

Why use a rundown?

  • Large shows have dozens of graphics and knowing what comes next matters.
  • A producer can hand a rundown to an operator who was not in the planning meeting.
  • Timestamps keep everyone honest about pacing.
