Align and distribute

When more than one object is selected, the align and distribute controls appear in the toolbar.

Align

• Left / Center / Right — aligns horizontal edges or centers.
• Top / Middle / Bottom — aligns vertical edges or centers.

With two objects selected, alignment happens relative to the last selected object. With three or more, it aligns to the overall bounding box.

Distribute

• Distribute horizontally — evens the gaps between objects along the X-axis.
• Distribute vertically — the same on Y.

Three or more objects must be selected for distribute to do anything.

Align to design area

With a single object selected, the alignment buttons align the object to the design area (not to another object). Fastest way to center a lower third.
