Snapping, safe area and grid

Visual guides that keep placements tidy and inside the viewable part of the screen.

Snapping, safe area and grid

Snapping

When you drag an object, pink guide lines appear as edges approach other objects' edges or the design area center. Release the mouse while a guide is showing to snap to it.

Disable snapping temporarily by holding Alt / Option while dragging.

Safe area

The safe area is a dashed rectangle inside the design area. Broadcasters clip the outer edges of the frame, so keep meaningful content inside.

  • Title-safe (inner box) — where all text must live.
  • Action-safe (outer box) — where foreground action should stay.

Toggle the safe-area overlay from the View menu. It is a guide only and never renders on air.

Grid

A pixel grid can be overlaid on the design area. Set the grid size in the View settings. Like the safe area, it is a visual aid only.
