Offline Mode & Windows App

Running offline at the venue

What is different from the cloud experience when the app runs locally.

Running offline at the venue

At the venue, the Windows app starts a local server on the laptop. Everything works as if it were the cloud — but entirely on the machine.

Starting

  • Launch the Windows app.
  • The server starts automatically.
  • A browser opens to the local homepage listing downloaded productions.

Opening a production

  • Click the production from the home list.
  • The control panel opens.
  • The output renders at a local URL like http://localhost:3100/output/<slug> — point the broadcast tool at that instead of the cloud URL.

Editing data on air

  • You can edit dataset values during the show (Live data edit works the same as online).
  • Changes stay on the laptop. There is no sync-back to the cloud — this is by design so a venue's live edits do not pollute the studio dataset.

Plugins and live feeds

Plugins that need internet (SMHI, Google Sheets, Travsport) do not work offline. The data you took with you in the sync is the data you have. Plan datasets accordingly for offline-use productions.

Shutting down

Close the app when the show is over. Downloaded data remains for next time.
