Your role

The four roles in BroadcastGraphics and what each can do.

Your role

Everyone who signs in to BroadcastGraphics has one of four roles. Your role decides what you can see and change.

Superadmin

  • Global access across every organization.
  • Creates new organizations and their first admin.
  • Manages system-wide settings and the support wiki.

Superadmins are set up at install time. Most users will never see this role.

Admin

  • Scoped to a single organization.
  • Creates and manages users (editors and operators) inside that organization.
  • Has full access to projects, templates, datasets, productions and outputs belonging to the organization.

You become an admin when a superadmin promotes you for a given organization.

Editor

  • Scoped to a single organization.
  • Builds and edits the creative content: templates, designs, data schemas, data sources, mappings, datasets, productions.
  • Cannot manage users.

Editors are the "builders". Most designers and producers will have this role.

Operator

  • Scoped to a single organization.
  • Runs productions from the control panel — Take, Out, Pause, Continue, change rows, edit live data.
  • Cannot change templates or schemas.

Operators are the "drivers". During a live show they are the ones on the mouse.

Roles are per organization

Your role is tied to a specific organization. If you belong to two organizations you can have a different role in each.

What if a role is wrong?

Only an admin (or a superadmin) can change your role. Ask the person who invited you if something is missing.
